Chance is a gorgeous husky & pit-bull terrier mix who is new to our rescue.  He was an owner surrender due to no fault of his own.  He lives in a dormitory, at the rescue, with both male and female dogs.  Chance loves people and would be a great running or hiking partner and would do best in an active home.  Husky's are known to have a prey drive so it is unknown if he is ok around cats or kittens.  Chance is searching for a home where there is consistency and where he can settle in and truly be himself.

NORTHERN BREEDS: All of our Husky/Northern breeds require a home visit to check for appropriate fencing and, if needed, to offer tips on containment.  You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines, when you submit your application.

Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky or malamute you will need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system (cost is approx $100) this is quite often needed to prevent digging, climbing or chewing through fences.  A hot wire is typically the best route to start with for proper containment and peace of mind.  Some of our dogs will require this fencing method, prior to adoption, knowing they have a history of escaping and will either jump or climb over your current fencing.  For most yards installation of a hot wire is simple and can be done in under 2 hours.  

Northern Breeds are beautiful dogs but can have challenging personalities.  They can be demanding and very destructive by chewing or digging and if not exercised they may be hard to contain when their needs are not met. Please learn a little more about the breed on our website Home Page.

Chance has had his age appropriate vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration that also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance
